Former president of the Supreme Federal Court donated R$ 10 to Genoino.
A contribution from Nelson Jobim, also a former Minister of Justice and Defense, would be used to pay the rent for the former president of the Workers' Party (PT) in Brasília, should the family's website reach the amount of the AP 470 fine, of R$ 667; Genoino was prohibited by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) from serving house arrest at his home in São Paulo.
247 - The family of José Genoino announced yesterday that the website created to raise donations to pay the R$ 667 fine from AP 470 received 100% of the target amount. One of those responsible for this was the former president of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), former Minister of Justice and Defense, Nelson Jobim, who donated R$ 10 to the former president of the PT (Workers' Party).
According to Folha de S. Paulo, if the website created to help the Workers' Party member reached the amount of the debt, Jobim's check would be used to pay the rent for the house the former congressman rented to serve part of his house arrest sentence.
Genoino currently lives in a rented apartment in Brasília with his wife, after being denied permission by the president of the Supreme Federal Court, Joaquim Barbosa, to return to his home in São Paulo.
