247 - President Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) and his vice president, General Hamilton Mourão (PRTB), heard expressions of gratitude to former President Dilma Rousseff from Air Force Lieutenant-Brigadier Nivaldo Luiz Rossato before wishing success to the new Air Force commander, Antonio Carlos Moretti Bermúdez, 62, appointed by the occupant of the Planalto Palace.
"I thank Lieutenant-Brigadier Saito, my predecessor in command of the Air Force, who had a great influence on the formation of my vision of the Air Force. To President Dilma and President Temer for having entrusted me with and kept me in command of this institution. Be assured that I did everything to honor this position," Rossato stated.
Rossato referred to threats and called for unity among the Armed Forces. "We cannot be mistaken. The threats exist and are camouflaged, ready to show their strength, taking advantage of vulnerability. Therefore, we need to be aligned with the Army and Navy, because otherwise, all the work done previously will be in vain," he said.
