247 - The president of the Senate, Eunício Oliveira (MDB-CE), stated this Thursday morning (24) that it will not be possible to immediately vote on the bill approved this Wednesday (23) by the Chamber of Deputies regarding the reintroduction of payroll taxes for some sectors and the removal of PIS/Cofins on diesel oil.

"Our agenda is blocked because of the arrival yesterday of several provisional measures that came at the last minute, as the Chamber always does, and which the Senate has a constitutional obligation to analyze according to what the rules dictate," the congressman told the Poder 360 website.

According to the congressman, "it's impossible" to vote on the tax re-implementation bill now. "I'm not going to disrespect the rules and just be here pleasing congressmen and the Speaker of the House, Rodrigo Maia," he added.

Eunício suggested that he does not intend to expedite the processing of the provisional measures that the Chamber sent at the last minute and which expire on June 1st. "I will establish the committees and respect the Internal Regulations. I cannot do anything different from that," declared the president of the Senate.
