Etchegoyen threatens Lula and says that his distrust of the military does not pacify the country.
Former head of the Institutional Security Office, General Sérgio Etchegoyen, cited Bolsonaro's terrorism and said that Lula uses "the old technique of looking for scapegoats."
247 - Former Chief Minister of the Institutional Security Cabinet (GSI) in Michel Temer's government, General Sérgio Etchegoyen criticized President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's statement that he had "lost confidence" in part of the Armed Forces because of the terrorist acts on the 8th, when supporters of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) invaded Congress, the Presidential Palace, and the Supreme Federal Court (STF). According to Etchegoyen, Lula is not contributing to pacifying the country.
"After the sad episode of the 8th, President Lula, supreme commander of the Armed Forces, makes a clear statement to the press that he does not trust the Armed Forces. How can the country be pacified from there? How can the Armed Forces, which are a state institution with which the PT governments coexisted for 16 years, be pacified?", he stated in an interview with the Rio Grande do Sul program Pampa Debates.
"The President of the Republic (...) already knows that no general will call a press conference to respond to the offense. So this is an act of profound cowardice, because he knows that no one will respond. He knows that no one will contest what he is saying. In other words, it's the old tactic of looking for someone to blame," the general added.
On the 12th, Lula said he had "lost confidence" in a portion of the active-duty military, according to... State of S.Paulo"The moment I regain my confidence, I'll return to normal," he said.
