"A huge stupidity," says Bolsonaro-supporting businessman to the CPI, regretting his participation in terrorism in Brasília.

The merchant also claims to have changed his mind about the electoral system after the decline of Bolsonaro's movement: "the electronic voting machine is the best system in the world."

247 - Questioned by the CPI of Anti-Democratic Acts conducted by the Legislative Chamber of the DF this Thursday (13), the Bolsonaro-supporting businessman Joveci Xavier de Andrade said he regretted going to the coup-mongering demonstrations promoted by Bolsonaro terrorists on January 8, informs The newspaper O Globo.

"I went in that euphoria. I confess I shouldn't have gone. It went very wrong. I never imagined that. In what country has that worked? Destroying Congress, the Supreme Court, that would only increase our bill. Destroy everything and now Bolsonaro is back? It's incredibly stupid," he declared.

Joveci is one of the owners of the Melhor Atacadista chain and is suspected of being one of the financiers of the coup-mongering camp set up in front of the Army headquarters in the federal capital. He denied the accusations and said that he only visited the camp three times, as an "unknown," and that he felt safe there due to the presence of uniformed soldiers acting as "security guards"—a term used by the businessman.

The merchant appeared in a photo on January 8th holding a sign that read "The people are supreme" alongside other Bolsonaro supporters. He claimed today, however, that he only went to the protest, but "did not participate" and did not invade any of the Three Branches of Government headquarters. According to him, he only got "close to the ramp" of the Planalto Palace.

Regretting his Bolsonaro-supporting euphoria, Joveci said he had changed his opinion about the Brazilian electoral system, acknowledged the election of President Lula (PT), and stated that he no longer intends to get involved in politics. "The electronic voting system is the best system in the world. I found it incredible that the United States, which is more developed, still uses the paper ballot system," he added.
