The newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo published this Thursday (14) a devastating editorial against Chancellor Ernesto Araújo; among other things it says, in the title, that Araújo exercises a "mediocre diplomacy" and goes to the point: "Judging by the enthusiasm shown so far by President Jair Bolsonaro and his Foreign Minister, there will be total symbiosis between Brazil and the United States in the coming years, whatever the agenda"
247 - The newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo published this Thursday (14) a devastating editorial against Chancellor Ernesto Araújo. Among other things, it says, already in the title, that Araújo exercises a "mediocre diplomacy" and goes to the point: "Judging by the enthusiasm shown so far by President Jair Bolsonaro and his Foreign Minister, there will be total symbiosis between Brazil and the United States in the coming years, whatever the agenda."
"Foreign Minister Ernesto Araújo believes that Brazil has delayed its development by seeking to do business with China, Europe, and Latin America, and abandoning the United States as its main trading partner. The statement, made during a keynote lecture at the Rio Branco Institute, where aspiring diplomats study, shows the extent of the intended shift that President Jair Bolsonaro plans to implement in the country's foreign policy," the newspaper states.
The newspaper Estado de S.Paulo further states that the strategy announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in his inaugural lecture is a "messianic" message, since "the new Brazilian foreign policy, as reported by Chancellor Araújo, mixes commercial interests with explicitly religious motivations. It is as if Brazil were destined by 'divine providence' to be linked to the United States, as this would be the indispensable condition for its development."
