247 - Federal congresswoman Erika Hilton (Psol-SP) said, in an interview with CNN Brazil, who will seek the support of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) for the proposed amendment to the Constitution that proposes ending the 6x1 work schedule. The congresswoman has already met with the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha (PT), who gave his approval for the presentation of the proposal.

“I will certainly seek out the Presidential Palace again,” said Erika. The congresswoman also said she will schedule a meeting with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), who has not yet taken a position on the proposed constitutional amendment. The idea is to garner support for the proposal to be approved in 2025.

The text submitted to the Chamber of Deputies foresees the adoption of the 4x3 work schedule, but Erika admits there is room for changes to the text. Party leaders affirm that if the proposed amendment suggests a 5x2 schedule, it will have a better chance of being approved. Government parliamentarians argue that Lula should support the proposal to reclaim a labor-oriented cause, with the support of the population.
