Eduardo Paes mourns the death of Preta Gil: "We will not forget you"
The mayor of Rio de Janeiro laments the death of the artist and highlights her contagious joy and close friendship with Gilberto Gil.
247 - The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (PSD), used his social network account X this Sunday (20) to pay an emotional tribute to singer and presenter Preta Gil, who passed away this weekend. In a message full of affection, Paes praised the artist's charisma and generosity, as well as expressing solidarity with her family, friends and, especially, Gilberto Gil, Preta's father.
“These are the kinds of things that should be forbidden from happening. I have rarely met someone in my life who brought such good vibes and spread joy and friendship wherever they went,” Paes wrote on her official profile. “What a sadness to see someone like that leave us! I want to express my deepest sorrow for the passing of @PretaGil.”
Addressing Gilberto Gil directly, the mayor expressed his admiration and friendship: “May God comfort the hearts of her fans, her enormous legion of friends, her family, and especially this great guy, my friend @gilbertogil. All the strength in the world to you!”
Paes concluded the tribute with a direct and affectionate message: "Thank you @PretaGil, we won't forget you!"
