Eduardo Bolsonaro and Hélio Lopes will head the Evangelical Front.

Congressman Sóstenes Cavalcante, a radical Bolsonaro supporter and member of Silas Malafaia's church, won the election and is the new president of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front.

247 - The new president of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front, deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante (DEM-RJ), a radical Bolsonaro supporter, opened up space in the organization's leadership for deputies Eduardo Bolsonaro (PSL-SP) and Hélio Lopes (PSL-RJ). This Wednesday (16) the two assumed the positions of secretary and treasurer of the group, respectively.

Cavalcante took office as president of the Front on the 9th of last month. after winning the dispute against Congressman Cezinha de Madureira (PSD-SP)The new president is from the Assembly of God - Victory in Christ, in 2022, a church belonging to Silas Malafaia, one of the most strident Bolsonaro supporters in the country. Madureira, defeated in the election, belongs to the Madureira Ministry of the same Assembly of God, a faction that will support former president Lula in the elections. 

The Evangelical Front is made up of nearly 200 federal deputies and represents one of the main bases of support for the Bolsonaro government. In an interview with The State of São PauloSóstenes Cavalcante said that the goal of Eduardo Bolsonaro and Hélio Lopes joining the leadership of the Front is to bring the group even closer to the Presidential Palace.
