Two robbers die in Vila Olímpia.
The pair were attempting to pull off a bank exit scam when the police arrived and started shooting.
The two men who were shot late this morning during an attempted robbery in Vila Olímpia, in the southern part of São Paulo, died after receiving medical attention, according to information from the Military Police.
The pair were shot during an attempted robbery, a so-called "bank exit robbery," near a bank branch on Rua das Olimpíadas. A customer was leaving the bank, near the Vila Olímpia Shopping Mall, when he was approached by two men. There is still no information about who shot the robbers, who were injured.
One of them was rescued by the Fire Department and taken to the São Paulo Emergency Room. The other was taken by the Military Police to the Southern Regional Hospital. The customer escaped unharmed, according to the Military Police.
