The defense of the former Minister of Justice and former Secretary of Public Security of the Federal District, Anderson Torres, classified this Tuesday (2) the so-called coup draft found by the Federal Police (PF) as a "Google draft".
During the argument held in the trial of nucleus 1 of the coup plot, in the First Chamber of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), lawyer Eumar Novacki said that the document is available on the internet, in an apocryphal form, and has no legal value.
During a search and seizure operation as part of the investigations, the so-called "coup plan" was found printed in the former minister's home.
"It was an apocryphal draft that never circulated and was never discussed," he stated.
Novacki also refuted the accusations related to the coup attacks of January 8, 2023. Torres was accused by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) of leaving the Federal District amid the attacks. On the day of the attacks, he was serving as the Federal District's Secretary of Security, but was on vacation in the United States.
According to the defense, the trip had been planned before the events. "It was a vacation trip, scheduled well in advance, with the family, whose tickets were issued on a date when there was not even any consideration regarding the events of January 8th," they stated.
The defense also denied that Torres, in his capacity as Bolsonaro's Minister of Justice, ordered special operations by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) to block the movement of President Lula's voters in the Northeast during the second round of the 2022 elections.
"There is no direct action by Anderson Torres," Novacki stated. The session continues for the arguments of the other lawyers.
