Dino denounces Bolsonaro clan to the Supreme Court for spreading fake news.
The criminal complaint includes federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).
Brazil Agency - The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, will join... Supreme Court (STF) with criminal complaint against seven opposition parliamentarians, including federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), because of posts on social media associating the minister with organized crime after a visit to the Complexo da Maré favela complex in Rio de Janeiro.
The minister's representation to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) was proposed within the scope of Inquiry No. 4.781, known as the Inquiry of... Fake News (fake news), which is being processed in the Supreme Court under the reporting of Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
“[I will file a complaint] against some parliamentarians who are spreading, in criminal association, two fake news"The first is that I was in the Complexo da Maré meeting with Comando Vermelho. The second, equally criminal, is that I was there without a police escort," the minister stated.
According to Flávio Dino, the spread of a series of racist and prejudiced posts criminalizes the Complexo da Maré, which encompasses 16 communities where more than 140 people live. The minister visited the area last week, meeting with community leaders. According to him, the attacks suffered could constitute the crimes of slander, defamation, racism, and criminal association.
“Initially, I wouldn’t take any legal action against these people. I prefer to deal with them in the political sphere, but I’ve seen a very detrimental and harmful repercussion against the Maré community and other communities. These people who spread this type of prejudice are actually encouraging violence and massacres,” declared Dino.
In addition to the sons of former president Jair Bolsonaro, the Justice Minister's delegation includes federal deputies Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ), Paulo Bilynskyj (PL-SP), Otoni de Paula (MDB-RJ) and Cabo Gilberto Silva (PL-PB), and Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES).
