Representative Angelim demands explanations regarding changes at the Post Office.

Brazilian Congressman Angelim (PT-AC) filed a request for a Public Hearing in the Chamber of Deputies to discuss the restructuring of the Brazilian Postal Service (Correios); the proposed measure aims to eliminate the Amapá Regional Directorate, which will be subordinated to it from the scheduled date. All customer service, operational, commercial, administrative, and management processes will be directed to the Pará Regional Directorate. "With this change, there will be a drastic reduction in the number of employees and the number of positions acquired, possibly even leading to the mandatory transfer of employees to other states, as well as the closure of several post offices in the interior of the states," stated the congressman.

247 - Representative Angelim (PT-AC), along with Representative Janete Capiberibe, from Amapá, filed a request, with the urgency that the case requires, for a Public Hearing in the Chamber of Deputies to discuss the restructuring of the Post Office. The Public Hearing is already scheduled for the 14th.

In a meeting with the congressman, postal workers from the state of Amapá reported that the postal service intends to eliminate the Amapá Regional Directorate, which will cause all customer service, operational, commercial, administrative, and management processes to be directed to the Pará Regional Directorate. This change will have repercussions in the states of Acre and Roraima, which will then report regionally to the states of Rondônia and Amazonas, respectively.

"With this change, there will be a drastic reduction in the number of employees and functions acquired over the years, possibly even leading to the mandatory transfer of employees to other states, in addition to implying the closure of several post offices in the interior of the states, where in some cities or districts, they also function as Postal Banks. If this restructuring takes place, thousands of Brazilians will have to travel from their cities to the nearest post office to carry out any type of banking transaction or mailing," the congressman stated through his press office.
