Moraes' decision removes GSI agents from Bolsonaro's security detail.
The security detail for the former president should be organized by institutions such as the Federal Police.

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), determined this Wednesday (17) that the escort of Jair Bolsonaro must be organized by the Federal Police or the Penitentiary Police of the Federal District, and not by the agents of the Institutional Security Office (GSI) who provide personal security for the former president.
The measure was taken after the minister demanded clarification from the Penitentiary Police about the escort that took Bolsonaro to undergo a medical procedure at a hospital in Brasília, last Sunday (14).
Because he was under house arrest, Bolsonaro was required to leave DF Star Hospital immediately. This was determined in the minister's decision, which authorized the former president to leave his home and report to the hospital.
However, upon leaving the hospital, Bolsonaro remained standing behind his doctor, who gave a press conference to explain the procedure and update the former president's health status. While waiting for the interview to end, Bolsonaro was cheered by supporters who were waiting for him at the hospital entrance.
In the information sent to the minister, the Penal Police said that Bolsonaro's transfer was carried out by the GSI and that the corporation only carried out the escort in conjunction with PF agents, who also participate in the monitoring work.
After analyzing the information, Moraes said that future transfers should only be carried out by the Penitentiary Police and Federal Police agents.
"I determine that all transportation, movement and escort of Jair Messias Bolsonaro must be organized, coordinated and carried out by the Federal Police or Penal Police, as required by the situation, without the participation of GSI agents, who will continue to ensure the security of the detainee's family members," he decided.
The minister further added that the measure is necessary to standardize the escort's movements.
“The need to standardize movements, the security of the inmate and the guarantee of public order requires greater standardization, to avoid the problems that occurred last Sunday, where the disembarkation and boarding were carried out in the wrong place, outdoors and in the presence of several people, the inmate remained for a long time watching an improvised press conference given by his doctor,” Moraes added.
Prison
Since August 4th, Bolsonaro has been under house arrest by order of Moraes.
The precautionary measure was determined in the investigation in which federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), son of the former president, and Bolsonaro himself are being investigated for acting with the government of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to promote retaliatory measures against the Brazilian government and ministers of the Supreme Court, including the cancellation of visas and the application of the Magnitsky Act.
Last week, by a vote of 4 to 1, the First Chamber of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) convicted Bolsonaro and seven other defendants in the criminal action related to the coup plot for the crimes of armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law, coup d'état, damage qualified by violence and serious threat and deterioration of listed heritage.
