Budget crisis at the end of Bolsonaro's government forces Federal Highway Police to limit vehicle maintenance.

247 - The General Directorate of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) sent an official letter to the regional superintendencies throughout Brazil ordering the limitation of maintenance on the corporation's vehicles, alleging a lack of resources necessary for the full execution of services.
According to the G1In the official letter, dated November 11th, the corporation's Fleet Division "states that any maintenance service considered non-essential on any PRF vehicle will need to be approved by the General Directorate before being carried out. The reason, according to the agency, is the 'limitations in the budget' originally allocated for the year 2022."
When questioned about the matter, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) stated that preventive maintenance services, especially those related to safety items, can be carried out normally and that it is negotiating with the Ministry of Justice (to which the corporation is linked) and the Ministry of Economy for additional funding to fully resume services.
The PRF is not the first security agency to be affected by the budget crisis at the end of Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) government. On Friday (18), the The Federal Police (PF) announced the suspension of passport production. alleging “insufficient budget allocated to migration control activities and the issuance of travel documents”.4
