In the video, the children are guided by a man who gives instructions commonly used within military barracks. According to the school's administration, the activity is part of a partnership between the school and the Junior Guard, which uses the unit on Sundays to promote "training."
According to the school administration, the project – which has been in effect for six months – aimed to “provide discipline, self-control, civic and moral values, with military principles.” However, they were unaware that the activities included the use of simulated assault rifles. According to the administration, the partnership with the Junior Guard has been suspended.
The school also reported that the activity was maintained with the support of the city hall. In a statement, the municipal administration informed that the school is not linked to the municipal education network and that it was unaware of the activities.

Regarding the video circulating on the internet in which children appear carrying a replica firearm, we clarify that the Municipality of Padre Bernardo has no employment relationship, contract, agreement, or partnership with the instructor or the project.
A few months ago, this same instructor was in the mayor's office requesting support from the Municipal Government, and was informed that the city government views the practice of teaching patriotism, civic duty, and good manners favorably, but that he would need to present the Junior Guard Project along with a work plan, which did not happen.
The incident occurred on the premises of the Santa Bárbara State School, a unit not linked to the municipal education network. The city hall was not even informed about the start of the activities with the students, nor about the practices to be taught. The Municipality of Padre Bernardo vehemently repudiates any practices involving activities that incite or advocate acts of violence.”
