A report from the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo It highlights that "Colonel Lima has been a friend of former president Michel Temer (MDB) for over 40 years. The [Operation] Decontamination, an offshoot of Lava Jato, claims that the retired military officer from the São Paulo Military Police is one of the financial operators for the MDB politician. Both were arrested."
According to the newspaper, "Judge Marcelo Bretas, of the 7th Federal Criminal Court of Rio, also ordered the indefinite detention of Lima's wife, Maria Rita Fratezi, former Minister Moreira Franco (Mines and Energy), and businessmen Carlos Alberto Costa, Carlos Alberto Costa Filho, Vanderlei de Natale, and Carlos Alberto Montenegro Gallo. The judge also decreed the temporary detention of Rodrigo Castro Alves Neves and Carlos Jorge Zimmermann."
