The fight against the coronavirus may move from recommendations to mandates, says the government.

Reuters - The spokesman for the Presidency, General Otávio Rêgo Barros, said this Friday that the government continues to monitor the impacts of the new coronavirus and that the effort to combat the outbreak is in the "recommendations" phase, but that this could advance to a stage of "mandations".

In a brief statement following a government coordination meeting for combating the coronavirus at the Civil House, Rêgo Barros said that the current moment calls for prudence.

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health, Brazil had 77 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 1.422 suspected cases as of Thursday.
