The National Council of Justice (CNJ) is only expected to evaluate proceedings against Moro in September.
The two proceedings initiated at the National Council of Justice (CNJ) to analyze Sergio Moro's conduct – regarding the breach of confidentiality of a telephone conversation between Dilma and Lula and the legal conflict last weekend concerning a habeas corpus in favor of Lula – are only expected to be evaluated by the council in September, when Minister Dias Toffoli assumes the presidency of the Supreme Federal Court (STF); even so, many believe that the council will at most issue a warning against him.
247 - The two proceedings initiated at the National Council of Justice (CNJ) to analyze Sergio Moro's conduct are only expected to be evaluated by the full body in September, when Minister Dias Toffoli assumes the presidency of the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
The first procedure, which is currently shelved, concerns the breach of confidentiality of a conversation between deposed President Dilma Rousseff and former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The second concerns the legal conflict of last weekend regarding a habeas corpus in favor of Lula.
"Since the former president is at the center of the events, members of the CNJ (National Council of Justice) say that nothing prevents them from combining the actions," says the Painel column in Folha de São Paulo. "Even if the CNJ chooses to punish the judge, those who are betting higher believe that the council will at most issue a warning against him," the text says.
