247 - After much resistance to the agreement, former Petrobras International Director Nestor Cerveró is considering a plea bargain in the context of Operation Lava Jato, reports columnist Lauro Jardim.

Even though he has already been convicted of money laundering in court, Cerveró could have his sentence reduced if he tells the investigating prosecutors what he knows and if his testimony provides important revelations.

Nestor Cerveró has always denied involvement in the corruption scheme at the state-owned company and has always refused to negotiate a plea bargain. His lawyers argued that there was no reason for him to cooperate.
