Malu Gaspar, in the newspaper O Globo.
According to the report, the number is almost three times greater than that recorded during Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) inauguration in 2019, and "considering all levels, from ambassadors to heads of state, around 120 countries are expected to be represented at Lula's inauguration."
“In 2019, Bolsonaro's inauguration was attended by 18 high-level delegations. Right-wing leaders such as the then Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, were in Brasília at the time,” highlights Malu Gaspar.
The members of the team responsible for the ceremony say that “the presidents of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the King of Spain, Philip VI, as well as left-wing allies in South America, such as the presidents of Argentina (Alberto Fernández), Colombia (Gustavo Petro), Chile (Gabriel Boric) and Bolivia (Luis Arce) have already confirmed their arrival in Brazil in January.”
