Espionage case already impacts energy pact.

247 The revelation by former agent Edward Snowden that the confidentiality of the Brazilian president's cabinet conversations was breached by the United States National Security Agency (NSA), as was the case with Petrobras, caused more than just discomfort between Dilma Rousseff and Barack Obama.

The incident ruined Dilma's scheduled state visit to Washington in October. The Brazilian government was disappointed with Barack Obama's response to the event.

Furthermore, it has already impacted the postponement of the renewal of the FAB's fighter jet fleet, which had the American company Boeing as the favorite in the bidding process, in a contract estimated at at least US$ 5 billion.

Now, it is suspected that this case is behind the cancellation of the Strategic Energy Dialogue (DEE) meeting, which was scheduled to take place two weeks before Dilma's arrival. The event was created by the two presidents in 2011 with the aim of cooperation in the areas of biofuels, oil and natural gas, clean energy, and energy efficiency.
