Truck hangs precariously from overpass in São Paulo.
Driver loses control of vehicle and truck gets stuck by its rear wheels on the Rodoanel Mário Covas overpass in São Paulo; no one was injured.
A semi-truck was left dangling by one of its wheels on an overpass of the Rodoanel Mário Covas highway, which runs above the Raposo Tavares highway in São Paulo, after the driver lost control late this morning. No one was injured.
The accident happened around 12:15 pm, near kilometer 18 of the Rodoanel highway, heading towards Rodovia dos Bandeirantes, in the Cotia region of Greater São Paulo. According to the concessionaire CCR, the six-axle truck, which was not carrying cargo, was hanging by its rear wheels.
The truck is almost touching the Raposo Tavares Highway, which has its side lane completely closed in the direction of São Paulo, according to the Department of Roads and Highways (DER). The São Paulo-bound lane of the Rodoanel (ring road) has two left lanes blocked. On the other side, one left lane has been closed as a safety measure. Due to the closure, the Raposo Tavares Highway is experiencing six kilometers of slow traffic in both directions.
