247 - The Minister of Justice, José Eduardo Cardozo, refuted accusations by Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG) that the government acted to include opposition figures on the list of those investigated for participation in the Petrobras corruption scheme.

He said he repudiates the statements made "by opposition parliamentarians." "It's unacceptable. I can state loud and clear: if governments acted this way in the past, don't judge us by old standards, by what has already happened," he affirmed.

Cardozo also criticized the senator for commenting on something that hasn't yet been officially released. "If someone celebrates before it's public knowledge, they have to explain why they're celebrating."
