Bolsonaro supporters are blocking roads in protest against the results of the presidential election on October 30, when Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was defeated by then-candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) by 50,9% to 49,1% in the second round.

Throughout his presidency, Bolsonaro defended the participation of the Armed Forces in the vote counting process. Opponents publicly denounced the possibility of the president attempting a coup, but he was unsuccessful.
