Cachoeira remains imprisoned in Brasília, court decides.
The illegal gambling operator has been detained in the federal capital since April 18th, when he was transferred from the Mossoró Federal Penitentiary.
Agency Brazil – The Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region (TRF1) today (4) unanimously confirmed a preliminary decision that resulted in the transfer of businessman Carlos Augusto Ramos, known as Carlinhos Cachoeira, to the Papuda Penitentiary, in Brasília. Previously, he was detained in the Federal Prison of Mossoró (RN).
The three members of the Third Panel of the court analyzed an individual decision by Judge Fernando Tourinho Neto, dated April 16. Tourinho is the rapporteur for all requests in the Cachoeira case at the TRF1 (Regional Federal Court of the 1st Region) because he received, by lottery, the first appeal that arrived at the court on the matter.
Cachoeira has been detained in Brasília since April 18th, in a federal area. He was arrested on February 29th as a result of Operation Monte Carlo, which investigated corruption schemes and illegal gambling operations in the Midwest.
