247 - After spending four months detained in the United States, César Diego Justino from Goiás was deported and landed in Brazil last Friday (7). Emotionally, he kissed the ground upon arriving at Belo Horizonte International Airport, in Confins. The case was reported by g1.

Justino, a real estate agent, traveled to the United States seeking better conditions for his family, but was unable to legalize his stay and ended up being deported. “Things are difficult. I went to try to build a life here in Brazil, buy our houses, give our children a better life. My wife was here; I left them here in Goiás. So, it was very difficult,” he recounted.

Originally from Jaraguá, in central Goiás, he entered the US last October through the border with Mexico. Upon surrendering to American authorities, he began a regularization process, but faced difficulties due to the tightening of rules for asylum applications. During his detention, he received a bail of US$5, but failed to pay it within the stipulated time. “I was detained for four months and five days. They gave me a bail of US$5 so I could stay, but I couldn't pay it on time. Because I didn't pay, the judge decided to deport me,” he said.

The real estate agent highlighted the hardship faced in trying to live in the United States and warned those thinking of attempting to enter the country illegally. “If you have to go, go through the front door. Get a visa. And let's do things right. Let's not go through Mexico, it's too dangerous,” he advised.

Justino described the experience as one of the most difficult moments of his life. “You go hungry, you go cold. Imagine, being alone in a distant country. Alone. It's very sad. Very sad indeed,” he lamented.

Now back in Jaraguá, he intends to resume his career as a real estate agent and rebuild his life alongside his wife and children, aged 2 and 10.

The flight that brought César Justino was the second transport of Brazilian deportees during Donald Trump's current term. The aircraft landed in Brazil at around 21:40 pm last Friday (7).
