Brazil celebrates ten years of Bolsa Família today.

Brasilia - President Dilma Rousseff and several ministers are participating today (30) in a ceremony commemorating ten years of Bolsa Família. It will be at 11 am at the Museum of the Republic.

Several ministers are participating in the ceremony, including Guido Mantega, from the Finance Ministry, Alexandre Padilha, from the Health Ministry, and Tereza Campello, from the Social Development and Fight Against Hunger Ministry. Parliamentarians and former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will also be present.

As part of the celebrations, the book will be launched at 16 pm, also at the Museum of the Republic. Bolsa Família Program - A Decade of Inclusion and Citizenship. The initiative comes from the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea) and the Ministry of Social Development. The Minister of the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs and president of Ipea, Marcelo Neri, and Minister Tereza Campello will present the work. The articles compiled in the publication trace an overview of the program's evolution, highlight the main contributions of Bolsa Família to social assistance policies, and present data on its impact on health, education, and social protection indicators, as well as on poverty reduction.
