247 - Jair Bolsonaro and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke by phone on Thursday, the 3rd, and agreed to call for a ceasefire in Ukraine, according to the UK government. The Brazilian government has not yet commented on the conversation.

Johnson said the Russian operation is "repugnant" and that the international community cannot allow the Russian government to be victorious. He appealed to Bolsonaro, highlighting that Brazil was a "vital ally" of the Allies, a bloc that included the United Kingdom, in World War II, and could be relevant in resolving the current crisis in Eastern Europe.

Brazil voted in favor of the resolution against Russia's military operation in Ukraine at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, September 2nd. However, the Brazilian government spoke out against sanctions imposed on the country's authorities.
