247 - Brazilian congressman and potential presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro posted a 2015 video on his social media accounts in which he discusses how prisoners should be treated. "Prisons: a suggestion for Temer since 2015," the congressman wrote.
In the video, Bolsonaro says that the prisoner "has to understand once and for all that the right he has is to have no rights." "The prisons in Brazil are wonderful because the objective of prison is to remove the scoundrel from society. To remove the rapist from society, the thief, the kidnapper. It's not a holiday camp. If he doesn't want to go there, he just shouldn't steal, kidnap, or kill; it's very simple," he added.
"If one day I have the key to the safe, between investing in a school and a prison, where will I invest? In the school. The prison can wait."
In conclusion, Bolsonaro suggests installing prisons on the borders. "Just put the thug there and the cost will be zero." "There's leishmaniasis, there's malaria, there are alligators, there are jaguars... He'll learn to live among the animals because they treat us like animals in urban areas," he said.
