247 - After being absent from social media for four days, President Jair Bolsonaro posted a tweet defending his son, city councilman Carlos Bolsonaro (PSL-RJ).

"Have a great start to the week everyone! With @CarlosBolsonaro," wrote the president, attaching an image of a post he made on his Facebook page in which he appears alongside his son in the hospital.

In the message, Bolsonaro says that some people were very important in his campaign. "However, one stood out in the social media arena, with suggestions and content: Carlos Bolsonaro, my son," said Bolsonaro, adding that "many, who have done nothing or never done anything for Brazil, want to distance him from me."

The statement contrasts with the statement he made last Thursday (28), in which he said that none of his three political sons have authority over government decisions. During breakfast with a group of 13 journalists at the Planalto Palace, Bolsonaro lamented the episode of the leak of audios of his conversations with the former Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency Gustavo Bebianno, who was dismissed amid the PSL's fake candidate scandal and a direct fight with Carlos Bolsonaro.

"None of my sons are in charge of the government, that doesn't exist," the president said. But in a post this Sunday, Bolsonaro said that Carlos, "whether or not he is in Brasília," he will continue "listening to his suggestions, not because he is a son I raised, but also because he is someone I have learned to admire and respect for his work and dedication."

Bolsonaro makes it clear that he not only thinks like his son, but also will not exclude him from government decisions. Considered Bolsonaro's closest son, Carlos is called a pitbull because of his aggressive behavior towards those he chooses as enemies.

A city councilman in Rio de Janeiro, the president's closest son uses social media like a revolving machine gun. In his tweets, he makes indiscriminate attacks on people from his own political camp, on left-wing leaders, on social movements, and on the press. In a survey conducted by the newspaper O Globo, of the 500 tweets made by the councilman between December 15th and February 15th, 72,2% of the posts were attacks. Praise represents only 8,8%, and mentions of government actions, 8,4%.

According to this week's Veja magazine, Carlos Bolsonaro "has already had at least one conversation with his father about the possibility of resigning from his position as city councilman in Rio and settling permanently in Brasília."
