The meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday (16) and takes place after Bolsonaro intervened in the decision to readjust the price of diesel oil by 5,7%, which caused a sharp drop in the company's shares, with a loss of R$ 32 billion in market value.
Despite the interference, the Presidential Palace stated that there are no plans to intervene in the company's management.
"As a matter of principle, the president understands that Petrobras, a publicly traded company subject to market rules, should not suffer political interference in its management. Indeed, this was one of the reasons for the crisis we were experiencing in past governments, which almost led to the company's dismantling," said the Presidential spokesperson, General Otávio Rêgo Barros.
