Bolsonaro legalizes fraud that allows the rehiring of former employees with lower salaries.
The decree contradicts a rule created in 1992, which addresses fraud in such actions. "This proposal to rehire dismissed employees at a lower salary is absurd and cowardly," criticized congresswoman Luiza Erundina (PSOL-SP).
Forum Magazine - A decree, signed by the Special Secretary for Social Security and Labor, Bruno Bianco, legalizes the rehiring by companies of former employees at a lower salary than they were previously paid. This practice had been considered fraudulent since 1992, when a decree established that termination followed by rehiring within 90 days of the termination date is fraudulent. This information comes from... FSP.
With this decree, Bolsonaro authorizes companies to immediately rehire employees laid off during the pandemic – rendering the rule established in 1992 ineffective. Thus, the rehiring of employees dismissed without just cause can be done at any time, without penalties, until December of this year.
