247 - Jair Bolsonaro (PL) reacted this Thursday (20) to statements by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) regarding the complaint filed by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) against the former president and 33 other people for alleged attempted coup d'état.

In an interview with Tupi radio in Rio de Janeiro, Lula stated that Bolsonaro and his allies "are condemning themselves by asking for amnesty even before being judged."

"The citizen should be saying, 'I am innocent.' But he is saying, 'Guys, I am guilty. I tried to devise a plan to kill Lula, Alckmin, Alexandre de Moraes, but it didn't work,'" said the president.

In response, Bolsonaro attacked Lula, accusing him of trying to divert attention from the problems facing the federal government.

"Every time Lula is on the ropes (no steak, no beer, no chicory, no coffee, no eggs, monitoring of the Pix system, scandals with ministers, stratospheric spending without responsibility and the people paying exorbitant tax increases without the slightest return), coincidentally, many things happen, always aiming in the other direction!", wrote the former president on social media.

The Attorney General's Office filed the complaint on Tuesday night (18). If the Supreme Federal Court (STF) accepts the complaint, Bolsonaro and the other people involved will become defendants.
