Bolsonaro says it's 'premature' to talk about political motivation behind the shooting that interrupted Tarcísio's campaign in São Paulo.

"Everything is still preliminary, so I don't want to rush to conclusions," said Jair Bolsonaro.

247 - Jair Bolsonaro said it is too early to guarantee that there was political motivation in the shooting that interrupted a campaign event for Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos), in Paraisópolis, a community in the South Zone of São Paulo, this Monday (17). “I received a call from Tarcísio, some images as well. Everything is still preliminary, so I don't want to rush to conclusions. Whether it was an action against his team, whether it was an isolated action, whether there was already a conflict or one about to happen in the region. So it would be premature for me to talk about that,” said Bolsonaro, according to the newspaper. The Globe.

Bolsonaro also linked the case to the incident involving shots fired at an evangelical church in Ceará on Friday (14) where first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and senator-elect Damares Alves participated in an event.

“What I know is that a few days ago there was an incident involving two shots fired at a church where the First Lady was to be present. The perpetrator was arrested, detained, confessed to being a member of Comando Vermelho (Red Command) and that the two shots were to intimidate and prevent many people from attending this event with the First Lady and Mrs. Damares. This is happening, and we regret it. It's a proven case that has political motivation. The Tarcísio case is not yet proven,” he stated.
