"Bolsonaro must be arrested in the name of national security and democracy," says Leonardo Boff.
Theologian says Supreme Court must react to provocation from former president.
247 - Theologian Leonardo Boff issued a strong statement regarding the recent actions of former president Jair Bolsonaro. "If the ineligible one wants to 'trick' Minister Moraes and indirectly President Lula, he should receive, on the spot, the legally deserved payback: be arrested right there and then, along with other indicted individuals, at least as a preventive detention in the name of NATIONAL SECURITY and Democracy," Boff expressed.
In this context, businessman Tony Garcia, known for his denunciations related to the crimes of former judge Sergio Moro in the Lava Jato corruption scandal, analyzed Jair Bolsonaro's strategy in calling for a rally on Paulista Avenue, scheduled for the 25th. "It seems Bolsonaro has decided to go for broke. People close to him say the platform he intends to set up will be very large. At least 20 senators, 100 deputies, and some special guests will be present, such as former deputy Janaína Paschoal, Sergio Moro, Deltan Dallagnol, and others with fewer votes. His wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, will have a prominent role on this platform, portrayed as the wife who gave up her activities to support her 'persecuted' husband," Garcia explained.
"This is the outline of the plan so far, but it's all very preliminary. However, the organizers state that if the demonstration on Avenida Paulista is successful, the tone will be strongly critical of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, but without losing composure. This demonstration was called after Jair Bolsonaro received polls indicating a perception of persecution against him by the population," he added.
"He will present himself on Paulista Avenue as a victim of this 'relentless persecution' by Lula's government and Minister Alexandre. Following this line, the country will remain in conflict and hatred will continue to divide society, irreversibly harming future generations," Garcia concluded.
