247 - The DF Star Hospital, in Brasília, released a medical bulletin this Saturday (16) informing that former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) presented a picture of recent pulmonary infections, esophagitis and gastritis, reported the news portal g1According to the document, the tests detected "residual images of two lung infections possibly related to episodes of bronchoaspiration."

The endoscopy showed "persistence of esophagitis and gastritis, now less intense, but requiring continuous medication." The report also recommends continued treatment for hypertension and reflux, as well as preventive measures to avoid new episodes of aspiration.

Bolsonaro left house arrest for the first time since August 4th to undergo medical examinations, following authorization from Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The former president underwent blood and urine tests, an endoscopy, and an abdominal CT scan, and has already returned to the condominium where he is serving his precautionary measure. He did not speak to the press upon leaving the hospital.

House arrest and judicial context

Bolsonaro's departure from Lago Sul was accompanied by the Federal District Penitentiary Administration Secretariat, responsible for monitoring the electronic ankle bracelet worn by the former president. Moraes determined that Bolsonaro could remain outside his home for up to eight hours and had to present, within 48 hours, a certificate detailing the procedures performed.

House arrest was ordered by the Supreme Court on charges that Bolsonaro used his sons' social media profiles to circumvent a court order prohibiting digital communication, including through third parties. He is being investigated in an inquiry into the actions of Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and former US President Donald Trump to pressure the Brazilian government and Supreme Court justices.

Furthermore, the former president is a defendant in the criminal case concerning the so-called coup plot, the trial for which is scheduled for September.
