"Gurgel's attitude is incompatible with his position."

The statement by National Prosecutor's Office advisor Luiz Moreira refers to the refusal of the Attorney General of the Republic, Roberto Gurgel, to present documents regarding expenses during his administration. Supreme Court Justice Cármen Lúcia upheld the previous decision by Justice Teori Zavascki to deny the Attorney General's request to keep the data confidential.

"Gurgel's attitude is incompatible with his position."

247 - National advisor to the Public Prosecutor's Office, Luiz Moreira, sees the resistance of the Attorney General of the Republic, Roberto Gurgel, in presenting documents from his administration as an attitude incompatible with the position. The data was requested after alleged complaints of embezzlement made by MP employees.

"I find it incompatible with the position he holds. Because those whom the Constitution grants oversight powers cannot refuse to submit to oversight, whether requested by any Brazilian citizen or institution," he said in an interview with R7.

This week, the prosecutor's request to prevent the data from being released was denied by the STF (Supreme Federal Court) for the second time. Justice Cármen Lúcia upheld the previous decision by Justice Teori Zavascki, who had already denied a previous request, and the decision must be made in plenary session.
