247 - During his "urgent" five-day trip to New York in December to discuss an audiovisual project with retired Jiu-Jitsu fighter Renzo Gracie, the Secretary of Culture, Mário Frias, spent more than just R$ 39 of public funds (including airfare and per diem), reports journalist Lauro Jardim. column in the newspaper O Globo.
In addition to the R$ 39, the trip cost the public treasury another R$ 1.849.
According to Lauro, Frias requested (and received) reimbursement for this amount for "performing a molecular diagnostic test for Sars-Cov-2," the popular PCR test, as detailed on the Transparency Portal.
