Following criticism, Temer dismisses Secretary of Human Rights.

After harshly criticizing the Michel Temer government for changes in the rules for monitoring and combating slave labor in the country and for changes to the Maria da Penha Law, the National Secretary of Citizenship of the Ministry of Human Rights, Flávia Piovesan, was dismissed from her position; she was supposed to leave the post only in January of next year, when she would assume a position on the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) of the OAS, but her departure was brought forward due to her criticisms of the Temer government.

Flávia was the first woman to assume a high-level position in the Temer government after he took power in 2016.

Flávia was supposed to leave her post only in January of next year, when she would assume a position on the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) of the Organization of American States (OAS). However, her departure was brought forward due to her criticisms of the Temer government.
