After criticism for not revealing his vote, Flavio Bolsonaro decides to declare his support for Davi Alcolumbre.
Followers didn't hold back with their criticism, which poured in by the thousands on his social media page; "Are you going to do this for the entire term? It's going to get weird. People won't be able to fit this response into every vote," said one user.
247 - Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PSL-RJ) said on his social media page that he is in favor of open voting, but that he would not declare his vote in the election for the presidency of the Senate because he is the son of the President of the Republic.
After receiving a barrage of criticism, Flavio backed down and decided to declare his vote for Davi Alcolumbre (DEM-AP), in the second vote held after the first was annulled due to an extra ballot found in the ballot box. Davi is the main opponent of Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL).
Previously, Flávio said that he did not reveal his vote "to avoid speculation intended to harm the government."
"I am in favor of open voting, but on this specific occasion, being the son of the head of another branch of government, I chose not to reveal my vote to avoid speculation intended to harm the government. May whoever is elected, regardless of who it is, support the agendas that Brazil needs," he wrote.

Even councilman Fernando Holiday (DEM-SP), linked to the MBL, took a jab at him. "Flavio Bolsonaro said he won't reveal his vote because he's the president's son. But what if they had kept the vote open? Wouldn't he have voted?", Holiday questioned.
