247 - In an attempt to evade responsibility for the dismantling of Petrobras and the consequent relationship between high fuel prices and the dollar, Jair Bolsonaro said this Thursday (10) that he has no decision-making power over the state-owned company's pricing policy.

"I don't set prices at Petrobras. I don't decide anything. Only when there's a problem does it fall into my lap," he told supporters.

Due to his position, Bolsonaro has the power to appoint the president of Petrobras, currently headed by General Joaquim Silva e Luna. He can also nominate members to the company's boards – which define the state-owned company's pricing policy.

Petrobras announced on Thursday that the price of gasoline will increase. 18,77% for diesel and 24,9% for diesel. Cooking gas will increase from R$ 3,86 to R$ 4,48 per kilo, a 16% increase. The adjustments will take effect from this Friday (11).

This Thursday, the Senate approved Bill No. 1.472/2021, which creates the Fuel price stabilization account and a gasoline subsidy. For ride-hailing app drivers and taxi drivers.

One of the main leaders of the 2018 truckers' strike, Wanderlei Alves, known as Dedeco, stated that drivers should protest against fuel price increases and "to shut down the country"

In his speech, Bolsonaro also gave his supporters fake news, claiming that former presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff interfered in Petrobras' pricing policy. "Lula and Dilma They interfered with Petrobras's prices, among other things. They indebted the company by R$ 900 billion."
