247 - Brazilian pastor and Bolsonaro supporter Silas Malafaia declared that he recorded and sent four videos dubbed in English to US authorities, in which he accuses Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes of promoting religious persecution. This information comes from a column by journalist [name missing]. Monica BergamoIn an interview with Folha de S. Paulo, Malafaia also compared the actions of the Federal Police (PF) to a "gestapo," referring to the political police of the Nazi regime.

The pastor-businessman was the target of a Federal Police operation last week, ordered by Moraes, which included the seizure of his cell phone, the breach of his bank, tax and telephone secrecy, as well as the cancellation of his passports and the prohibition of contact with Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP).

In the order authorizing the operation, Moraes stated that there is “strong evidence of Malafaia’s involvement” in attempts to obstruct investigations involving Jair Bolsonaro and his allies. According to the minister, the pastor allegedly coordinated strategies with representatives of the US government to pressure the leadership of the Brazilian judiciary.

In his defense, Malafaia claims that the blocking of his passports and the seizure of notebooks containing theological notes represent direct attacks on his faith and the free exercise of his religious activity. “I have become the victim of a farce, of pure persecution. When they seize theological material, they are interfering with my religious work tools. When they seize my passport, they impede my pastoral mission, including a wedding I will officiate in Boston at the end of September,” he declared.

The pastor also said that the videos sent to US authorities aim to "show the persecution that religious leaders are suffering in Brazil." He also accused Moraes of allowing the release of private conversations he had with Jair and Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP). "The leak is a crime and I will demand action against those responsible," he stated.

According to the Federal Police, Malafaia allegedly acted as an advisor and assistant to the Bolsonaro family in strategies to pressure Congress and the Supreme Court to grant amnesty to those involved in the coup attempts of January 8, 2023. The Federal Police indicates that the purpose of these actions was to directly interfere in the trial of the criminal case in which Jair Bolsonaro is accused of leading a criminal organization that attempted a coup d'état in Brazil.

According to the report, the recordings made by Malafaia should be published on his social networks this Monday (25).
