Announced by Bolsonaro, Alexandre Silveira will refuse the leadership of the government in the Senate.

The politician from Minas Gerais will be sworn in as senator this Wednesday, replacing Antonio Anastasia, the incoming minister of the Federal Court of Accounts.

Even so, he will be in Brasília today for the inauguration of the new senator from his party, Alexandre Silveira from Minas Gerais, who will succeed Antonio Anastasia, the next minister of the Federal Court of Accounts.

Don't ask Silveira if he will be the leader of the Bolsonaro government in the Senate, replacing Fernando Bezerra (MDB-PE), who resigned from the position last December. If it depends on Silveira, he will take some more time to confirm or deny what Bolsonaro himself announced, and in the end he will refuse the invitation. He's in no hurry, and he loves the spotlight.

He is the secretary-general of the PSD and a candidate for the Senate in the October elections. He will support Alexandre Kalil (PSD), mayor of Belo Horizonte, who is running for governor of Minas Gerais. The PSD does not want to talk to Bolsonaro. Kassab insists that the party's candidate for president of the Republic is Rodrigo Pacheco, president of the Senate.
