247 - Lawyer Alfredo Attié, president of the Paulista Academy of Law (APD), criticized the newly appointed Minister of Defense, José Múcio, after the new government official said that the pro-Bolsonaro encampments in front of military barracks, frequented by Bolsonaro-supporting terroristsThey are a "manifestation of democracy".

Read below the statement from Attié, obtained by Folha de S. Paul:

"Of course, the Armed Forces should be taken seriously.

But that doesn't mean tolerating criminals who call for military intervention in front of barracks.

The statement by the newly appointed Minister of Defense, referring to the supposed 'peaceful nature' of the demonstrations, contradicts the law and the Constitution.

These people should not only be forced to leave these camps, but they must also be criminally prosecuted.".

On Monday (2), Múcio said that he has family and friends in the Bolsonaro camps, classifying the demonstrations as part of the democratic process. According to the minister, the acts should gradually lose support, without state repression.
