247 - The lawsuit filed by opposition parties requesting that the Supreme Federal Court (STF) mandate the publication of coronavirus data by 19:30 PM daily on the Ministry of Health's website will be overseen by Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
The measure seeks to counter the decision by Jair Bolsonaro's government to release the numbers only at 22 PM. In the lawsuit, the parties argue that Jair Bolsonaro, "in addition to having a denialist stance regarding the pandemic, has been working to hide the numbers, which, according to the parties, represents a violation of constitutional precepts."
"Furthermore, the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro (without party affiliation), violates the principles that govern the actions of public administration: legality, impartiality, morality, publicity, and, in particular, the duty of transparency and the supremacy of the public interest," says an excerpt from the lawsuit.
