Attorney General's Office requests dismissal of Federal Prosecutor's Office's request for Salles' removal from office.

The Attorney General's Office (AGU) argues that the case should be directed to the 1st Federal Court of Brasília. The AGU alleges that the existence of a civil action against the same process by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) makes the agency "preventive" in this regard.

Forum Magazine - The Attorney General's Office (AGU) argued in an opinion for the annulment of the request by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) for the removal of the Minister of the Environment, Ricardo Salles.

According to a report in the Estado de S.Paulo newspaper, the Attorney General's Office (AGU) argues that the case should be directed to the 1st Federal Court of Brasília. The AGU claims that the existence of a civil action against the same process from the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) makes the AGU "preventive" jurisdiction.

Prevention occurs when a judge is assigned, rather than randomly selected, to handle a case. In these cases, the magistrate has already made decisions in proceedings similar to the new action. In Salles' case, the Attorney General's Office points out that the Prosecutor's Office questioned, in May of this year, a decision by the Ministry of the Environment that forms the basis of part of the new action against the minister.
