247 - Lawyer Carlos Alexandre Klomfahs requested the Court, in a popular action this Tuesday (26), that the Presidency of the Republic refrain from commemorating March 31, 1964, reports Julia Affonso, in State St. PaulIn the lawsuit, Klomfahs claims that Bolsonaro's orientation "is not in the public interest but rather serves the interests of the ruling class," and draws an analogy with Germany celebrating the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler, which lasted from 1934 to 1945.
"In a crude analogy, it would be the same as the author of this action promoting and celebrating the NAZI regime experienced in Germany from 1934 to 1945 under the leadership of ADOLF HITLER, with the extermination of more than 5 million Jews in concentration camps, under the argument of 'celebrating what for us - the government in power - was not a Dictatorship,' disrespecting the more than 434 deaths, among them 210 disappeared, according to the report of the National Truth Commission presented in 2014," writes Klomfahs.
"It is requested, as a preliminary measure, that the Presidency of the Republic refrain from determining the effects of the challenged act (celebrating March 31st within the Armed Forces) for violating the constitutional principle of morality, and on the merits, that the requests in the initial petition be granted to confirm the preliminary injunction, ordering the Executive Branch to refrain from celebrating March 31st, under penalty of a daily fine of R$ 50 to be allocated to the fund for diffuse rights," the document states.
Last Sunday (25), the official communication website of the Federal Government, EBC, published the approval by President Jair Bolsonaro of a message to be read in military barracks and garrisons on March 31, alluding to the same date in 1964, the day the military took power with the overthrow of then President João Goulart and the installation of a regime controlled by the Armed Forces.
