247 - The candidate from the left-wing bloc in the Chamber of Deputies election, Representative Marcelo Freixo (PSOL-RJ), received the vote of 50 parliamentarians.

The opposition bloc, formed by the PT, PSB, PSOL, and Rede parties, totaled 97 parliamentarians. However, this bloc split, and only the PT and Rede parties supported his candidacy. Together, these parties total 67 deputies.

In a message on social media, PSOL states: "There will be resistance! In an ultraconservative Chamber, @MarceloFreixo received 50 votes in the election for President of the Chamber, with a platform of resistance in defense of rights and democracy. The opposition has only just begun. The fight has only just begun!"
