42 people rescued after boat capsizes in Manaus.

A medium-sized vessel reportedly struck an iron bar, and after the impact began to sink.

247 - The Amazonas Fire Department reported that 42 people were rescued alive after the sinking of a medium-sized vessel, which had left Orla da Manaus Moderna, in the city center, bound for the Ariaú community on Friday (3).

According to a report by MetropolisThe vessel departed from Manaus Moderna at 18 PM, and at 18:30 PM it began to sink on the shore of Orla da Compensa, near Ponta do Ismael, in the western zone of Manaus.

Furthermore, according to preliminary information, the boat struck a piece of metal, and after the impact, it began to sink.

Firefighters transported 36 passengers and six crew members down the Compensa staircase in the western zone of Manaus. All victims were rescued alive and handed over to the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU).
